    The Ananda Nagar hospital, known as Abha Seva Sadan, is a rural medical setup rendering medical services to villagers since 1963. There are 85 villages around Ananda Nagar, covering a total population of approx. 99,000. Out of the total population about 75 % are living below the poverty line.

  • Cultural

    ANDS works in the area in various ways: schools and other facilities are dedicated to the full intellectual, cultural and spiritual development of girls and boys. Cultural growth is based on the Neo-Humanist philosophy of P. R. Sarkar.

  • Relief

    There are villages in the Ananda Nagar area struggling for their daily needs of food, education, medicine, etc. We work for the villagers to provide them with the best possible assistance.

  • Social

    In Ananda Nagar we try to be close to the needs of the local people through multiple social activities, such as distribution of medicines, food, guidance in agriculture, etc.

  • Children’s Home

    There are five children's homes in Ananda Nagar, run by monks and nuns. Approx. 150 boys and girls live here. They are given emotional, cultural and spiritual attention.

  • School

    Ananda Nagar is home to one high school with 800 students, a junior high school attended by 400 students, a college attended by 700 students, and an elementary school with 34 students. 500 students find accommodation in hostels.

  • Rural Development

    Particular attention is paid to a fruitful agricultural and rural development of the area. A farm with animal husbandry has been built and thousands of plants have been planted, incl. numerous fruit trees.
